M&T Bank direct connect issues starting 3Feb26

Anybody else getting a message of unable to connect with M&T Bank direct connect in Windows?

Been using M&T direct connection for over a year but this just started. I can connect directly online but Q will not connect to download mortgage statement. No typical error message. Just says it cannot connect. Try again in a few days.

It looks like M&T is still supporting Direct Connect, but they got by a couple of names in Q. SO, when you do TOOLS, Account List, is this the name that you see in the "Financial Instituiton" column next to the account(s)?

Which doesn't support Direct Connect, only Express Web Connect(+).

Also note that it's generally ill-advised to download into a mortgage account because, typically, only the principal part of the loan payment downloads … not the interest or any escrow amounts.

Instead it's suggested that you use Q's very accurate (for mortgage loans) "Loan Wizard" and download into your checking account which should cause the downloaded payment to match your payment transaction.
