Xerox Spinoff 2 12 2026

I am using Q for Mac Classic. I have my dividends automatically downloaded from my brokerage account E Trade . Xerox issued warrants on 2 12-2026. ( pasted below from company website)

Company had declared a distribution (the “Warrants Distribution”) to the holders of record of the Company’s common stock, par value $1.00 per share

(the “Common Stock”), the Company’s 3.75% Convertible Senior Notes due 2030 (the “Convertible Notes”) and the Company’s Series A Convertible

Quicken recorded this transaction as " Add Shares" which I believe is not correct. I read this may be considered a " spinoff" . Can you advise how I should record the transaction ?

Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, there isn't a built-in function to document a corporate spinoff in Quicken for Mac. You can use Buy and Sell transactions (this will impact your cash balance) or Add and Remove Shares transactions (this will not impact your cash balance) to document it, as described by another user in an earlier post:

Yes I would add my vote to have Q for Mac include corporate spinoff as a category just like the Windows version

@jjrichards You have to click on the link to the other thread, and add your vote in the yeloow box at the top of the page. Saying you add your vote doesn't actually register with the developers (who don't read all these posts) as adding a vote. 😊
