Quicken STINKS - why haven't they fixed this problem

Truly stinks that there is no way to install Quicken Classic without deleting the data on my current version, Quicken 2000! I have spoken with 5 different people in support and got the same answer. What is wrong with Quicken support? This is a problem that should have been fixed years ago!

Your Q product is SO OLD, that their statement is probably true.

But that's not Q's fault … no one can reasonably expect them to support a 26 year old product.

There is this … but even the FAQ on upgrading old versions says "2010 and later".

And, that "years ago problem" was caused by your own delay … and until about 10 years ago, Q2000 COULD be brought forward.

    Hello @KDeb,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. To clarify, when you install the subscription version of Quicken for Windows, it will remove all previous versions of Quicken. That should not delete any data from your data files, but it will remove the Quicken 2000 program from your computer.

You may be able to move Quicken 2000 to a different hard drive or to removable storage if you want to use the current version of Quicken while still having access to Quicken 2000.

It may be possible to convert your Quicken 2000 data files to the current version of Quicken. Make sure to keep backups of the original files in case they cannot be converted properly. For instructions on converting, please see this article: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-and-when-use-intermediate-version-convert-older-versions-quicken/#section-windows-4

    I hope this helps!

PLUS……If your Quicken was before 2010 you should have several files making up the data.  The main data file ends in .QDF.  All Quicken versions prior to QW2010 store your data in a series of files all sharing the same filename but with different extensions like  - .QDF .IDX, .QEL, .QPH  and all 4 of those files were rolled into a single-file .QDF starting in 2010.
