How do I restore accounts that disappeared after disconnecting them from web downloads? (Q Mac)

I'm about to lose it over here. I have two closed bank accounts that I was disconnecting from automatic updates. I went into account settings/downloads and selected disconnect. The popup said that I would not be deleting my accounts, just disconnecting them from downloads. Both accounts disappeared. They are not in the hidden files.

I spent 45 aggravating minutes working with the AI that kept throwing out solutions like - restore a copy from a previous backup and copy/paste the data in each account from the backup file version to the primary file. There is no option to copy or paste data between two files on a Mac.

The next suggestion was to tell me export the file as a transfer file and transfer it into my primary file. This doesn't work because, in the Mac version of the software you cannot select the accounts that you want to transfer. It's all or nothing. - How is it that Mac users pay the same amount for the subscription and have a lot less features?

The final suggestion was that I hand enter the data in each of the accounts that disappeared into a new account. WTH?!

After 45 minutes the AI support hung up on me and told me to call back between 5am and 5pm.

Does anyone have any experience with this on a Mac?

Help!

I have closed many accounts in Quicken Mac, but I have never experienced — or read of others experiencing — an account being completely deleted from a file just because of disconnecting it from downloading.

For starters, have you opened Accounts > Hide and Show Accounts? And are the accounts you disconnected absent from this window?
