Bill Reminder situation (Mac Quicken)

I have a loan created in my Mac version of quicken If i try to create a bill reminder to pay the loan from a bank account the principal and interest never change instead only grabbing the current values for both. I had hoped it would change based on the decreasing interest and increasing principal per the loan account. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
