We have 4 separate checking accounts within the same data file. One of our members writes a single check that she wants divided between two accounts. What is the correct way to record the transaction?
I would do it as a deposit in one account for the total amount and then add a split line that transfers what is needed to the other account.
I think that would probably be what happens in the physically world too.
I just re-read the OP, and realized that @Churchlady wants to receive the check as a deposit.
