How does Elan post CC transactions on JT Accts, where each card holder now has a separate cc#?
I use Classic Quicken for Mac, Version 8.5.1. I received notice from Elan, the service provider for Fidelity Rewards credit card indicating that each cardholder (2) on our joint account will now have a unique card #, even though all transactions will roll up to one consolidated account. I called and was told that I would need to download transactions for each credit card into Quicken, but they could not explain how my one payment would be reflected in the download? Does anyone know how this will work as I don't feel confident that the info provided is correct.

I have a Chase card account with 2 cards and separate card numbers.
When I set up the account in QWin, I only set up the primary account, since every thing rolls up to that card number.
All transactions (both cards) download when I connect with the primary card number, and my payments posting to the primary account cover all purchases (again, both cards).

My wife and I have joint Fidelity Visa card and we received 1 card in my name and 1 card in hers. My account number is the primary but she has a unique card number.
The 2 account numbers do not download as two separate accounts because my wife's card account is not a real credit card account. It is simply a way to be able to track which purchases are mine and which are hers. So, everything for both of our transactions downloads from my online account into my account in Quicken.
The reason for issuing 2 account numbers is only to help identify who made which purchases. When you log into your online Elan account via a computer you will now see in the transactions section between the Description and Amount columns a new User column. In that column will be the first name and last 4 digits of the card number of the person who made the transaction.
With my Android app I need to tap on the transaction to see the last 4 digits of the card that was used to make the purchase but the name of the person making the charge was not present.
When viewing the account via Fidelity.com it names the "Cardholder" of the transaction, not the "User."
I download from Fidelity instead of from Elan into QWin. I think we are supposed to get the Cardholder/User name downloaded into the Memo field but I have my settings set to not overwrite the information I manually enter into the memo field so I don't get that information. I don't know how that might be downloaded into QMac.
So far, the all the transactions for both of us are downloading correctly into just my 1 account in Quicken.
When Elan/Fidelity made this change, they sent me a new card with a new expiration date and security code but the account number was not changed. My wife got a card with her unique account number on it.
Other than activating both cards on the Elan website there was nothing more I needed to do. The whole download process has been very transparent with transactions made by both cards all being downloaded into my account. I would think it should be the same for you.
BTW, we have a few other joint credit cards that have worked the same way for many years, including our Costco Visa and our Macy's Amex cards.

Thanks for the insight. You have confirmed my suspicion that the information I received from Elan / Fidelity Rewards CC was erroneous. It makes sense to me that since everything is consolidated under one single account, all of the data is passed to Quicken similarly. The next task is to figure out which of our many online purchase and travel accounts are tied to each of our names so that we can validate / update the cc#'s to match. Maybe one day I'll be grateful for this new "benefit"… not today!😎

@rbaillargeon To track "which spent what", look into Tags in Q's Help. When you record a transaction in Q, you can append a Tag to the category to identify the culprit.
Now my wife uses her cards so infrequently that I can tell by the merchant name if she made the purchase or me, but for some things, say gasoline or groceries, it's not immediately apparent.
