Ability to enter Pending transactions into account register when automatic entry is off [Edited]
Quicken Classic Deluxe. When the user downloads (updates) Bank/CreditCard Account Data, previous to "Web Connect", "Direct Connect" would enter "pending transactions into the register when the user accepted the transaction. Currently version R66.23 build 27.1.66.23, shows the "pending transaction" but the only option to the user is to "Delete" that line item. An Improvement/enhancement would be another option to "ENTER" that line into the register. Not to make the entry as if it has "cleared" but just entering the line item. Currently the user would have to manually enter the transaction into the register. When I'm not at my computer (not home), I'm still using my credit cards, and sometimes paying bills thru my mobile banking app. When I return home, I rely on the "Update Accounts" to enter those transactions. Quicken Deluxe has been my sole financial management software since around 1995. Quicken has made my financial life easier. The feature to enter "Pending Transactions" was previously in Quicken Deluxe, all I request is that the feature be reinstated.

I think you are mistaken, as far as I know this has never been an option in Quicken. It certainly has been a complaint from the very first when pending transactions were introduced though. Unless they snuck it in a release where I missed it, and then accidentally removed it, it has never been there.
If one is using the preference for importing directly into the register, there is the menu option to enter it or to delete it, but if the transactions are going through the Downloaded Transactions tab the only option has always been to delete it.
With that being said, I see no reason why they shouldn't allow this, especially if it is allowed for automatic transaction entry mode.

@Rocket J Squirrel I think you missed what this is about. It isn't about turning Pending transactions on or not.
When you have pending transactions on and your transactions are going through the Downloaded Transactions tab, you will see the pending transactions in the Downloaded Transactions tab. There isn't an option to enter that pending transaction into the register, you can only delete it or wait for it to become a posted transaction.
If you have automatic transaction entry mode on you can select to either "enter it" changing it to a manually entered transaction that will be matched to the downloaded one when it posts or you one that allows you to delete.

Other discussions on "Pending Transactions" were as of Dec, 2025, was an issue with BoA including the pending transaction in the balance but not including the "Pending Transaction" as an actual posted transaction for the register. (paraphrasing). This caused an issues within Quicken when reconciling the account balance i.e. balances between Quicken and the bank didn't match. In Quickens own Help file, it talks about "Pending Transactions" that may actually change from the posted transactions or disappear entirely using the examples of Hotel (hold) charges, restaurant charges where the initial charge didn't include the "tip" but the final cleared charge would and Gas station (hold) charge. Quicken provides an option in the preferences to "automatically" include the charge in the register, but this is an "all or nothing" approach, which in my view, is what the Help file is trying to identify as an issue. (Non valid transactions). Having an ENTER button would allow the user to make those decisions as to what "Pending Transactions" are valid vs non valid, for the purposes of register entry and balance reconciliation with the bank or credit card companies.

If you are talking about the BofA bug, then all bets are off. You need to pursue Quicken Inc support to contact Intuit (their aggregator) to contact BofA to get this fixed.
The financial institution should NEVER send the pending transaction in the Online Balance.
Even with the Pending Transactions feature on, the Online Balance should never include the pending transactions.
You can never reconcile to pending transactions by definition. Reconciling is for posted/cleared transactions only.
Even with the Pending Transactions feature and "Automatically add to bank register" on, and the user selecting to enter a pending transaction into the register, it goes into the register as an uncleared transaction. It should not be included in the reconcile even if BofA has it in the Online Balance (which is wrong). For the very reason you stated. Pending Transactions haven't cleared the financial institution and as such can be removed/changed before they are posted. There is no system in place to "unreconcile" a transaction that has been set to reconcile while it is in fact in the pending state and it doesn't post.
