Fidelity CMA downloaded transaction not applying renaming rules
Hi, I have been a long-time Quicken user; I started using Fidelity CMA for the last 3 years or so. I have set up Fidelity CMA with 'Show cash in checking account' as No, meaning Fidelity CMA is a brokerage account. When I download a transaction, it doesn't apply renaming rules for the payee and always defaults to what is downloaded. I have made sure many times that renaming rules are set up correctly.
Not sure when this issue started bue it was working fine last spring. Has anyone faces similar issue or have a solution?
Thank You.

Hello @S_P,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information:
- Did you have 'Show cash in checking account' enabled last Spring?
- Did the Payee information, as it downloads from Fidelity, change?
- If so, is it possible that it no longer matches up with the renaming rule?
I look forward to your reply!

Hi Kristina,
At one point I had 'Show cash in checking account' enabled - not sure when I disabled it.
Payee name may have changed in downloaded transaction. I have already tried different ways (Quicken name or Payee contains) in renaming rules with what I see in downloaded transaction.
Ex. Download transaction has "DIRECT DEBIT ATT PAYMENT". So tried with all these space, one space between word, camelcase etc in both Quicken Name and Pay contains with say "AT&T" - no luck.
I believe when Fidelity CMA is setup as a brokerage (ie. Show cash in checking account disabled) register renaming rule is not working but works when it has associated checking register (ie. Show cash in checking account enabled).
Thank You.

I don't believe that renaming rules have EVER applied to investment accounts … only banking accounts.
