Please can we have a total dividend paid and an overall gain column (dividends plus capital gain) in the portfolio view, so that we can evaluate the overall performance of each stock, not just the capital gain available in QMac. Replicate the column availability in QWin. Missing the QWin investment features in the Mac version, having changed over two years ago after 20 years using QWin version.

@dusty58 . I'm trying to fully understand your feature request.

The Transactions screen has the Invest Amt column which can be used to see all dividends and realized capital gains; it can be filtered by account, date range and sorted by security — but not subtotaled by each security as you'd likely want.

The Portfolio screen set to Portfolio Value shows your securities as of today or some other date in the past. Dividends which were reinvested are included in the cost basis of a security, while dividends paid in cash have nothing to do with the security's value as of the set date. When the Portfolio screen is set to Performance, it shows ROI and IRR metrics over different time intervals; ROI and IRR performance do reflect dividends which have been paid.

So are you just wanting a column to see the dividends paid over similar time intervals (YTD, 1-year, 3-year, 5-year)? Or do you want total dividends since you first acquired the security? Bit how should such a value reflect any shares you have sold along the way? For example if you bought 100 shares of XYZ, then you received a $100 dividend, and later sold 20 shares of XYZ, what value would you want to see for dividend income? $100: the full amount you received? Or $80: the amount of dividends attributable to the shares you currently own?

There is an existing Idea topic (feature request) to add dividend and yield columns to the Portfolio view:

I think this is the same as, or similar to, what you are asking for above. You should click View Post and add your vote (in the yellow box beneath the top post in that thread). It currently has 24 votes, and needs to reach 30 to be submitted to the developers for consideration.
