I am unable to validate/repair my account

When I try to validate/repair my account, it seems to complete but hangs at the very end with "checking stock splits" and never completes. I've tried leaving it for days, but I ultimately have to force close. I tried deleting all of my stock split transactions, and I've tried a super validate, and it still fails to complete.

All of which indicates that your Q data file (not "account") is severely corrupted.

You might try restoring from backups (to a different file name so as to not overwrite the current file) and see if they work. The possible downside to this is the amount of re-constructing you'll have to do of your data in non-downloadable accounts. And, even for downloaded accounts, a fresh download typically only goes back so many days … determined by the bank/card/etc, not Q. 90 days is customary max, but some are much shorter.

BUT, what happened that necessitated the file validation in the first place?
