Cannot add transactions to my Fidelity Cash Management Account

Ok, the issue is that the Cash Management account shows up in Quicken Mobile as an investment account and, it appears, you cannot add transactions to an investment account in Quicken Mobile iOS.

Is there any way around this? one of primary uses I'd like for quicken mobile is tracking ATM withdrawals from my Cash Management account into my manual "cash" account.

Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, investment transactions are not currently supported in Quicken on the Web or Quicken Mobile. There aren't any good work arounds for it.

Since it downloads as an investment account, a possible workaround would be creating a manual checking account to track your CMA. This would create extra work, since you'd have to fill in the information manually, rather than being able to download it. Additionally, if you keep the investment account connected, it would throw off your net worth, since the manual account would functionally double count your transactions.

There is currently an Idea post asking for the mobile app to support investment transactions:

Oh, and the Cash Management account also isn’t available as a transfer category. So you can’t create the transaction on your cash account as a transfer.

Isn't there a feature in Quicken Windows to "link" a Cash management account to a checking account in quicken? Seems this would be the cleanest solution.

Yes, there is, depending on the type of investment account. If it's a brokerage, you should have the option. To do it, go to Tools>Account List. Click the Edit button next to the investment account. One the General tab, on the left side, you should see an option to "Show cash in a checking account".

Select Yes, then click OK. It may take a few minutes for the linked Checking account to be created. Once it's created, make sure to go to the Mobile tab and ensure that account is set up to sync with the cloud.

I tested in my file, and it appears that Quicken on the Web and Quicken Mobile treat that linked checking account like a normal checking account. Transactions are visible and it did let me create transfer transactions.
