Quicken freezing up

On May 5, 2026, I tried to use One Step Update (as I usually do) to update my investment accouts (Schwab and Fidelity) and Quicken froze up. I tried many options : validate and repair file, using a recent Quicken file, updating Quicken software again, etc. Finally, I deleted the app and after restarting my pc, I downloaded the app and installed it. Now when I try to update (set up a download) it fails "HTTP Status 400 - Bad Request). I made sure my investment accounts are set to allow linking to Quicken. So what gives? Is it time to use a different product?

To clarify, are you seeing the HTTP Status 400 - Bad Request within the Quicken program, or in your web browser/on the financial institutions' websites? If possible, please provide a screenshot.

Additionally, please provide the following details as well:

• Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
  • Please provide the exact file path as shown in the example below.
• Are you using a VPN while updating your accounts? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
• Do you have any antivirus or malware protection software running that may be interfering with Quicken? If so, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists?

Your answers will help us diagnose the issue more effectively.
