Trouble Adding a Second Citibank Credit Card to Quicken

I have been a Quicken user for more than 25 years. I am running Quicken Classic Premier for Windows, Version 27.1.67.7.

Recently, Citibank acquired the AAdvantage MasterCard program from Barclays Bank. I have for many years had a Barclay's AAdvantage MasterCard, which was set up for automatic download in my Quicken file. This card has now been transferred to Citi.

I also have a Costco Anywhere Visa Card issued by Citibank, and this card is set up for automatic download in my Quicken file. The downloads for this account have worked flawlessly for many years.

I deactivated the former Barclays MasterCard from automatic download and then attempted to use the Add Account tool to add my new Citibank AAdvantage MasterCard to my Quicken file.

I received this message: "Citibank needs you to authorize your accounts."

I proceeded to the next window (the sign-in window) and entered my username and password, which I regularly use to access the Citibank website. I was surprised when my sign-in credentials were not accepted, and I received this message: "Please enter a valid username and/or password and try again."

I tried three additional times with the same result. I then attempted to log on to the Citibank website with these same username and password, and my login was successful.

Thus, I am stuck. Quicken does not recognize my Citibank username and password, and I am unable to update my Citibank credit card accounts. Furthermore, my Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi has been deactivated and is no longer set for automatic download (I am now receiving a CC-800 notice with this account).

The fundamental problem is that Quicken no longer recognizes my Citibank username and/or password, and I am therefore unable to add, modify, or update my Citibank credit card accounts.

What's set as your default browser? I had the same problem, using Firefox, until I temporarily switched my default browser to Chrome. Then, the connection to Citi (for my formerly BarclayBank AAdvantage card) worked.

As soon as I got it working, I switched back to Firefox.
