Trying to add a loan account that I now have with my credit union.

When I follow the "Tools → Add Account" menu I can select my credit union from a search. Then I follow the prompts to access my credit union. Quicken scans my accounts. But the result is that it finds the four accounts I already have listed from my credit union (ELGA CU, Flint, MI). The new loan for my used truck does not appear in Quicken.

Does that loan account appear on the CU's website?

Because, based upon the content of FIDIR.TXT, which records the connectivity of the FIs with Q, a loan type account (AKA, a "Credit" type in Q) should be available for download.

BUT, you should be aware that for downloaded loans, only the principal component of your loan will download … not the interest payment.

AND, vehicle loans are almost always "Daily Interest" loans, where (unlike Mortgage loans) the amount of interest you owe for this month is partially dependent upon what day you made last month's payment. Q's Loan Wizard can't calculate the Prin/Int split on this Daily Interest loans, so you'll have to adjust those amounts every month anyway.

So, it just easier to download into your checking account the payment made and wait until you get the next statement to record how it was split.
