With upgrade to version 9.0.2 all downloaded credit card transactions are appearing as uncategorized even though there are quick fill rules for the payees
Hello @dgsimm,
Thank you for reaching out! To help troubleshoot, please provide more information:
I look forward to your reply!
As I stated first noticed after upgrade to V9.0.2. 3 transaction accounts. All associated with Chase Bank are impacted
We appreciate you reaching out about this!
If this started occurring right after installing the latest update, we recommend restoring a pre-update backup. You can follow the step-by-step instructions in this support article to restore a backup.
The backup you’ll want to choose will typically have "pre-update" in the file name. If you don’t have one labeled that way, select a backup dated from before the issue began.
Hope this helps!
What good will that do? I will lose all my updates. That does not fix the problem. There is a software issue which nobody from Quicken wants to look at. How do I restore to the version before 9.0.2
@dgsimm Thanks for following up.
The recommendation to restore a pre-update backup is intended as a troubleshooting step to help determine whether the issue may be related to the current state of the data file after the update process occurred. At this time, we cannot confirm for certain that version 9.0.2 itself is the direct cause of the issue.
If you would prefer to revert back to the version prior to 9.0.2 instead, you can download and install it via this support article.
However, it is important to note that if you revert to an earlier version, you will still likely need to restore from a pre-update backup as well, since the current file has already been updated for use with the newer version and may not open properly in an older release.
Thank you!
Did Quicken really just release an update that caused most categories to be forgotten?? Quicken just updated on my Mac and now Categories for all new downloads now indicate "Uncategorized." Even the ones that should automatically be categorized in their own database (like Vons, which would always come up Groceries) plus everything I have ever placed into my own categories.
Quicken, you've been getting better and better, but something as basic as this is not acceptable. Anyone else having this issue or will it clear up once I restart the program again?
Running Mac Version 9.0.3 (Build 900.60651.100) on macOS 26.3.1
I just experienced the same loss of categorization of new transactions that first appeared after upgrading from 8.xx → 9.0.3. Very frustrating to have to categorize new transactions after years of this being done automatically!
