90 days

Question

So, I take it that 90days is all you can get?  The CSV does not work or simply makes it a pain - you can't export to CSV, but you can do Excel, then convert to CSV. unfortunately, they only provide a few of the fields that Quicken requires and Quicken is not explicit in what the mandatory and optional column data needs to be.

If anyone has an idea on how to get 18 months (max BoA exports) - into a format that quicken can consume it would be appreciated.

Are you trying to do a one-time import of a downloaded QFX file from BofA (or any other bank that due to recent updates no longer supports QFX file import directly)? If so, don't tell anybody 😁 but you might want to try this: Before you begin create a backup of your Quicken data file. Use Notepad (Mac: TextEdit) or any other available ASCII text editor (not Word!) to edit your QFX file. Replace the bank ID number in two of the header records of the file with the number shown here: ???? (leave unchanged whatever it is) 10898 10898 ???? (leave unchanged whatever it is) (10898 = Chase Bank. Canadian users try 00005 instead (CIBC)) Don't change anything else. Just those two numbers. And verify the period in both and clauses. If the period is missing, the download won't work Save the file to a different file name and import it into Quicken into a new, temporary account register. Once imported, select to highlight all transactions in the new register except the Opening Balance transaction. Windows: Right-click a selected transaction. Select "Move transactions" from the popup and select the destination register, your real bank account register. Mac: Drag the entire block of transactions into your real account register in the Account sidebar. In the real register, if necessary, edit the existing Opening Balance transaction to the desired (oldest) date and set the amount to the same day's paper statement Ending Balance. Now you're ready to compare your register to the bank statements and fix any discrepancies. You can delete the temporary account register now.

Any limitation on the period of a download from any bank/card/etc is set by that institution … NOT by Q.

30-90 days is pretty common, but longer (sometimes MUCH longer) is available from other institutions.

See if you can initiate a longer download from BofA's website.   They're the ones setting the limit.

AND, is Excel the only apparent download format?  What are your other options?

Also, when you do HELP, About Quicken …  what's your "Subscription Valid Until" date.  You might have issues importing anything, although there may be work-arounds.
