Incorrect categorization from Memorized Payee list

I have Quicken for Windows 11. Consistently, when one transaction downloads it never uses the memorized Payee category.

When the download occurs Financial Legal is always the Category that is filled it. Yet, here is the memorized payee. There are no other memorized Mutual of Omaha payees and no renamimg rules. I have deleted this memorized payee a few times and recreated it. The same erroneous payee appears with each download. Should I report this as a problem?

Do you have "Financial Legal" as the category for another Memorized Payee? If so, you might have a corrupted Q data file.

Which financial institution are you downloading this from? And what's in the Transaction Download column for this account when you do TOOLS,

What is the downloaded Payee name?

Is it exactly "Mutual Of Omaha" or do you have a Renaming Rule that changes the downloaded Payee to Mutual Of Omaha? If not, your MPL entry will not be used.

All,

I do not have Financial Legal in use for another payee
The transaction comes from Bank of America based on an auto payment to Mutual of Omaha by the BofA. It is not used by Quicken Bill paying
I do not know what you mean by what's in the Transaction download Column when I use tools
Mutual of Omaha is the downloaded payee name and is not part of a renaming rule

That strongly suggests that your Q data file is corrupted. Have you tried taking a backup and then Validating your file?

I make frequent back ups. I've run Validate a number of times including today with no reported issues

In your image you are showing a search-filtered MPL resulting in only one Mutual of Omaha entry.

If you look at the complete, unfiltered MPL, does it show more than one MofO entry, e.g., perhaps one correct, one incorrect?
If so, be sure to delete the incorrect one.

Using a corrected register entry,

memorize the correct register entry (right-click the register transaction, select Memorize Payee)
before the next download brings in a new MofO transaction, manually create one from the new transaction line selecting the corrected MPL entry. During download Quicken will be able to match to the already existing register entry. Manually match if it doesn't.
