Problem with Net Worth Report that I am unable to explain. Posting here in hopes that someone may be able to help. Basic report structure is NetWorth report, Date Range last 30 days, interval is one day. Report settings: Display has cents box checked, no others. Accounts set to all (excl hidden or separate accounts), Categories is set to all with Show hidden checked, Payees is set to all with Show hidden checked, Tags is set to all with Show hidden checked, Securities is set to all with Show hidden checked, Advanced has include unrealized gains.
So the report does not tie to the Total Net Worth shown in my Accounts doc. If I drill into the discrepancy, it is driven by 1 brokerage account. If I drill into that one account, and I look at the total on the first day of the 30-day period, it ties, but then doesn’t tie on the second and on all subsequent dates. If I click on the total in the report for that second day column it drills into a roll forward of day 1 ending total and day 2 changes with day 2 closing total that is the correct numbers and different from the by account view. If I go back to the main report view, and change the display setting to check the Account Detail box, then in the main reports I can see that all securities have the correct value on Day 1. However most (but not all) securities on day 2 do not change value (a few do). There is no rhyme or reason to which are accurate and which are not. I have an individual stock that I bought this year that is incorrect. I have one that I bought 18 years ago that is incorrect. I have one that I bout 18 years ago that is correct. I have 1 out of 3 Treasury notes all bought in the last year that is correct, none of my ETFs or MFs are correct.
The really strange thing is when I wait any period of time and look at the report again, it is the same thing. The first column (Day 1) is correct (which was incorrect the prior week when it was Day 7), but starting Day 2, the same brokerage account goes off the rails. Only for this account. No other brokerage, IRA, bank accounts, etc. The account is Schwab if that matters. And I ran a validation on the file a few weeks ago. This problem has gone on for months. In a different version of this report that shows is set up for Interval Year from custom date 1/1/20 to 12/31/2026, the Dec 31 Net worth for all periods are correct.
This report was newly created after the addition of “day” as a display parameter, which was the root cause of a different problem I had several years ago.
Appreciate any thoughts on this problem.
