I am still using QW2014 ( won't upgrade to pay subscription costs ) and yesterday had new bad experiences reconciling my bank account. I entered the beginning-ending balances, and went through the reconcile process. Account did not balance. After reviewing all the items, still out of balance. Then I noticed the beginning balance was not correct. I assumed I had entered it incorrectly, so fixed that and checked - still not balanced. Checked again, and the beginning balance had changed itself again. Fixed that again, still not balanced. So I undid the reconcile and ran the validate and repair process, which reported the usual bogus problems, including some errors in an account with reported transaction dates before the account even existed. My data was in fact still all correct, even though reported as missing stock splits on a cash reserves fund in an investment account that is always and permanently $1.00 per 'share'. Then the usual 'bought or shares added transactions incorrectly categorized as realized gain' which is not true. This happened four times before I got the balances to remain corrected. I had to attempt the checking account reconciliation the fourth time to get the beginning balance to stay as I entered it so the account reconciled. And no, my hard drive has NO errors when validated.
In twelve years of using this version, I have never seen this particular issue before. And darn it all, my coffee got cold while I described this…
