Windows Classic Starter Edition - checking account reconciliation - cleared balance

Is there a way to adjust the cleared balanced in the account reconciliation process? My Statement Ending Balance is correct and ties back to my bank checking account, but the Cleared Balance is too high. If I enter an adjustment to make it balance, then my true balance is lower than it should be. Can the Cleared Balance be adjusted to correct this situation?

The "Cleared Balance" in the reconciliation is the sum of all of the Checked items in that dialog. Check, or UnCheck, as needed to bring the DIFFERENCE to zero.

But also note that IF, for example, you're reconciling as of yesterday and there are any item dated today or later that are marked "c" or "R" in the account, such will throw off the reconciliation as "future" (i.e., after the reconciliation date) items can't possibly be included on the statement.
