Trying to install Quicken classic on new Mac

I have tried everything in multiple discussion threads and still keep getting an error that "quicken has quit unexpectedly" This is an initial install of the app. Once I get the app to open, I am going to convert from my PC version to Mac. But I cannot get past step 1 of getting the application to open on the Mac.

When you say "new Mac", you mean brand new as in Apple Silicon M4 or M5? And which version of Quicken are you trying to install - the current subscription version (9.0.3 or 9.1) or an older version?

Thank you for reaching out! To troubleshoot, please start by making sure your MacOS is up to date.

If updating your operating system does not resolve the issue, please remove the version of Quicken that won't open, then download/install the Mac version of Quicken.
