Citi Bank Credit Card downloaded transactions were duplicated....

after Barclay transferred their Master Card accounts to Citi Bank I created a new account in Quicken. When I downloaded the Citi card transaction it downloaded the last full year, instead of transaction back to April 1st when the transfer occurred.

How to I delete all of the transactions prior to April 1st?

First, backup your data file. Then…

IN THE NEW ACCOUNT:

1. Make sure all transactions are listed in date order with the oldest date (it should be the Opening Balance transaction) at the top of the register and the newest transaction at the bottom of the register. If they are not in this order, click on the Date column header. If they still are not in this date order, click on the header, again.
2. Left click on the 1st transaction in the register (the Opening Balance transaction) > scroll down to the last transaction in March and while holding down the Shift key left click on that transaction: All transactions in that date range should now be shaded.
3. RIGHT click anywhere on the shaded transactions > click on DELETE > Yes. This will delete all of those shaded transactions.

IN THE OLD ACCOUNT:

1. Enter a new debit transaction Dated 3/31/2026
2. Name the Payee OPENING BALANCE.
3. Enter the ending account balance for this transaction dollar amount.
4. In the Category field: Enter the transfer to the new Citi account enclosed in brackets. Example: [new Citi card account name].
5. Enter. This will transfer the ending balance from the old account to the new Citi card account. This transaction in the new Citi card account will be the Opening Balance transaction in that new account.

Check your account balance in the new account. It should be accurate. If it is, then you have completed the process.
