Additional Transaction Date Filters

Hello Quicken Team,

I’m writing to submit a feature request that would greatly improve workflow efficiency for users who actively manage future-dated transactions.

I frequently enter upcoming transactions - bills, income, and planned expenses in advance. While the existing filters are helpful, it would be extremely valuable to have additional quick-select date filters specifically for future transactions—such as "Next 30 Days," "Next 60 Days," and "Next 90 Days."

These preset ranges would allow users to instantly view and validate upcoming cash flow without manually adjusting custom date ranges each time. It would streamline forecasting, reduce repetitive steps, and make the Future Transactions view more actionable for planning.

Thank you for considering this enhancement. I appreciate the continued improvements to the software and hope this feature can be added to a future update.

It is not necessary to actually enter future transactions in your register to see their impact. Personally, I don't think it is a good idea to enter transactions until I know the income will come in or have actually committed to make the payment.

If you set up Reminders for upcoming income and expenses, you can already choose to display the reminders in the register to see the impact on your balance. You can also select some of these date ranges you are requesting. Click on the gear at the top right of the register and hover over "Reminders to show in register". This will allow you to select 7, 14, 30, or 90 days, or 12 months. The only one you note above that is missing is 60 days. With Reminders, you can also use the bills and Income > Projected balances view to see your future balances graphically.

Is this what you are looking for, or do you want more choices for the date range for the filter at the top of the register, or is it something else?

I use Reminders for both expected income and expected expenses. That way I can predict, for as far into the future as I care, how much and when I'll need to transfer funds from investments to banking to cover my bills

I'll give this one a vote because I view it an easy implementation solution that would likely benefit more than one user.

@Bwea55 Have you used the Bills & Income Tab —> Bill, Income & Transfers (I combined all of mine using the cog in the top right)? As @NotACPA mentioned, by entering the information there, you can use the "Projected Balances" tab to forecast out as far as you like. This can be done by specific account and the timeframe. It also flags you when it identifies potential negative balances so you can take action. You can set them up as recurring to enter into your register automatically or even estimate the upcoming amount based on historical payments. It takes some time to set up all of your bills & income reminders, but once you do, I think it will become even more than what you originally thought you wanted.
