I have over 20 years of data in my dataset. Because of slow performance I tried a number of recommended remedies, one of which is to archive old data. I ran archive and tried to create a current data file with just 3 years of data. the process finished, asked for a password for the new file, then Quicken Windows Classic crashed. When I opened the current data file, it still had data going back to 2005. I deleted the archive and restored the old data. Ran Super Validate (no errors). Tried again, same outcome. Quicken Support says archive will not work on a file with many transfers and detailed investment transactions, and that I should just leave the file as is as size doesn't matter. I was able to get faster performance with other changes (disabled web/mobile and preliminary transactions). Should I be worried about data file integrity since the archive function fails, or is this just a Quicken quirk? Windows 11, Quicken Classic latest version.
