Hello, I am a 30+ year Quicken(latest ver# R68.28) for Windows user facing a persistent authorization failure with PNC Personal and Business Banking using Web Connect and Direct Connect. I've already spent 3 days and over 10 hours trying to diagnose the issue.
Recently, I was prompted to re-authorize my existing PNC accounts. After entering my credentials on the PNC web authentication screen, the process fails with a generic bank-side landing page error: "Service unavailable. Online Banking is unavailable right now. Please try again later or contact us."
Troubleshooting already completed to isolate the issue:
- Direct login via a standard browser to the PNC Business portal works flawlessly.
- Cleared all local Chrome browser caches/cookies and attempted the authentication handshake via fresh instances of Firefox and Edge.
- Created a brand-new, clean Quicken data file and attempted "Add Account" from scratch. The exact same "Service Unavailable" screen occurs during the bank-side redirect.
This confirms the issue is not a corrupted local data file or a browser cache glitch. It appears to be a broken API redirection script or an invalid endpoint URL mapping between Quicken and the PNC authentication server.
Support teams from both sides are engaging in the standard finger-pointing exercise. Has anyone successfully bypassed this specific endpoint failure recently, or is there an active Alert ticket open for PNC?
Thank you!
