Quicken Deluxe Classic for Windows R68.28
Microsoft Co-Pilot tells me that Quicken removed thew sound engine in release R68.xx. Therefore sounds are no longer generated by Quicken. Has anyone else heard of this?
No, CoPilot is making that up. (as reported by CoPilot looking at my half-finished post about it not being removed and quoting it. š)
I have R68.28 and my sound is fine.
EDIT: I forgot that my Quicken updated this afternoon and so I'm on R68.31, but it was fine in R68.28 too.
@Chris_QPW what half finished post would that be? I cannot find any prior mention of a āsound engineā.
CoPilot built into MS Edge can read the any tab you have open (when you open the CoPilot chat side panel).
So, it went like this. I was sure of my answer and started typing:
"No, CoPilot is making that up. I haveĀ R68.28Ā and my sound is fine."
But I was curious what CoPilot would respond if I asked it the original question "Did Quicken remove sound engine in R68.xx"
And that is when it responded "No, Quicken hadn't removed the sound module, ⦠along with some troubleshooting instructions, and also it referenced the tab/comment I had open as being the correct answer".
It is interesting to play around with exactly how these AIs work.
If have asked for some code to be generated, and seen a problem with it and feed that back into the AI and have it said "Yes, your code is wrong, ā¦"
Latest R68.31 mondo patch is missing from available list at: https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product/
Generally, Quicken will issue a new release in a staged method. That is they will allow only a certain number of people to get the update. If all is well, Quicken will then release the update to everyone.
Quicken does not update the patch link you provided until after the general release of the update.
So my guess is that the R68.31 is still in staged release.
It was never announced as a staged release or for all users.
On my test system, I went to Help > Check for updates and was offered R68.31. I installed it and the sounds work for me.
I was hoping to install the mondo patch. I usually have less issues doing that than doing an update within Quicken.
