Mac Quicken Transaction Data Entry Problems

Switched to Mac recently from Quicken PC  and here are problems I have been experiencing on Transaction Data Entry

* When I am typing in the year, Quicken seems to be bouncing or helping. For example when I am having to reconcile an entry in 2018, when I start typing 2018, quicken or some key bounce, changes it to 2008. Until I noticed this, reconciliation was not going well because "entries were "lost" (in time).  Is this a Mac quicken or my Mac configuration problem?
* Aside - It's a pain to enter dates not in the current year. Using the Calendar for current year entries is okay, but beyond that it's useless. 
* I admit I don't understand the behavior of the numerical entry of cost and shares boxes in Transaction Data Entry. I'm never sure where the decimal place is going to show up. Price box seems better. To get it right, it's quicker to delete everything in the cost and shares boxes to make sure it's right. Would someone could just explain how to skip the delete and quickly enter data more quickly?
* One salient factor that may affect the above problems  is that I am a   s  l   o  w   typist. So is it me or mac  quicken or both?

Issue - changing Start/Stop dates for Transaction Display

First noticed issue when I was trying to reconcile brokerage accounts from year 2016 with brokerage statements because of the Quicken Fidelity SPAXX issues. My PC file was totally corrupted during the April and June fiascos and I migrated file to Mac because it was somewhat easier to assess what was going on. My focus was to look at a month's worth of transactions to check against brokerage statements and then portfolio view to see the results in order to reassure myself that everything was okay or somewhat okay. And make corrections so stock shares were correct and cash balance zero at end of month and/or year by extracting portfolio view to excel spreadsheet to compare with brokerage statements and mark changes that might have to be made.

I was trying to set custom dates for transactions displays in the beginning and end dates for months in 2016, then though 2025. The default  custom dates are the start date of the account and today's date.

I believe same format is used to set date of Portfolio view and in Reports. Fortunately once dates in transactions were set, the dates in Portfolio and Reports were closer to dates I wanted to examine.

Transaction Start/End Dates  Entry consists of

Month - Numeric entry/ up and down arrow Choice box,  1 to 12

Day - Numeric entry/ up and down arrow Choice box,        1 to 31, 30, 28, 28 depending on year and month

Year - up and down arrow Choice box  . Beginning values are start year of account and end value is today.

Month and day allow data changes, e.g. type in 12  or click on up/down arrow

Small Calendar  with day of month picker and next/previous month arrows

=========Summary of my work around

* Change year using up/down arrow - gets last day of month  correct only 10 clicks from 2026 to 2016
* Enter month by typing  - faster than up/down  arrow unless going to a next/previous month
* Enter Date by typing  - faster than up/down arrow  or switching to calendar

Comment - I could do the above, but it would have been a lot quicker to just type 01012016 without having to focus on each entry in the Start/End Date with its three little entry boxes, but not as foolproof.

The little calendar is best used to easily pick days of the month you're focusing on. This Calendar will display the month and year of the month and year in the date entry left of it. It has tiny arrows to go back and forth between months (not years) so using it to get from 2026 to 2016 would be 160 on the arrow.
