Hi,
I'm a 30+ year user. There is a MAJOR bug in quicken which has existed for a long time. It relates to how securities are handled in many reports. In the "performance" tab in the "investing" tab, the default reports are wrong because of a bug. For example, in the "portfolio value vs cost basis" report, look at the total portfolio value shown and then compare it to the total investment value shown in the "portfolio" tab of the same section - most likely, it's different. If so, go to the full screen view of the portfolio value vs. cost report and hit the customize gear. Go to the "securities" tab and see what securities are included - all or only selected. My default is "All", so the 2 reports should agree. However, they don't. What you have to do is select the "include only selected securities" bubble, and then select the "include All securities" again. At that point, the 2 reports totals will agree.
This same problem exists for all the investment related reports in the performance tab. Also, VERY importantly, this same problem exists for the Net Worth report. I am an active investor - every time I buy new securities, they are not included in the net worth report even though I have the include all securities bubble selected. I have to go in the customize tab, select the include only selected securities bubble and then select the include all securities bubble again. If you don't do this, your net reported net worth is wrong.
Quicken, PLEASE fix this. thanks.
