When you reconcile a credit card account how do you pay from the checking account after all is done?
[Edited - Readability]
That would be recorded as a TRANSFER from your checking account to the card account.
Record this in checking with the NAME of the card account, enclosed in square brackets, as the category. [VISA]
Hello @roggiejm,
Thank you for reaching out! After you reconcile a credit card account, unless you opted not to see the pop up, you should get a pop up asking if you want to make a payment.
This pop up will not pay the bill for you. When you opt for Hand Written Check, it will enter the line in your register documenting the payment, but you would still need to create and mail the check (or pay online, or over the phone, or whatever method you typically use to make your payments).
If you opt for Printed Check, it will open the window to create your check using Quicken. Please note that you will need compatible check blanks to print checks using Quicken. See this article for more information about writing checks in Quicken: https://info.quicken.com/win/how-do-i-write-a-check-in-quicken
If you have Bank Bill Pay, Check Pay, or Quick Pay set up in your Quicken file, you may see those as payment options.
I hope this helps!
@Quicken Kristina is there a way to restore the pop up Make Credit Card Payment if you have previously opted not to show it?
There's the usual "all or nothing" Reset Quicken Warnings button in Edit / Preferences / Alerts & Messages …
