Don't let me clobber a ledger so easily!

I was just trying to enter a new transaction in a ledger, and I somehow inadvertently changed the date of every transaction in the ledger to the current date. I think what happened is that I went to the bottom of the ledger, where there's an empty line to enter new transactions. I put today's date in the date field and hit enter. That's it. All of the sudden, every entry in the entire ledger had today's date on it. Is that supposed to be a feature?? How about a confirmation before you change every entry in a ledger? How about some way to undo bulk changes? That was way too easy to accidentally clobber my whole ledger with just a couple of keystrokes.

Thank you for creating an idea and sharing your request. I wasn’t able to reproduce the behavior in the latest release, R68.31. Could you please confirm whether the following steps accurately reproduce the issue on your end?

• Open Quicken for Windows with an account that contains multiple existing transactions.
• Open the account’s register/ledger.
• Make sure the register is sorted by Date in ascending order so that the new transaction row appears at the bottom.
• Click the blank new-transaction row at the bottom of the register.
• In the Date field of the blank row, enter the current date.
• Press Enter without entering a payee, amount, category, or any other transaction details.
• Observe what happens in the register.

Also, has this occurred more than once or in multiple accounts?

Finally, could you please confirm which version of Quicken you’re currently using? You can find this by selecting Help > About Quicken.
