Error code 6917 using Quicken 2014 on W11

An error code 6917 is displayed when an entry (#17,105) is made into one of my banking accounts and only this account. As the program Q 2014 is no longer supported and I have visually scanned for issues to no avail, I'm at a loss for the reason behind this. I only use Quicken for record keeping and do not use it for online access. I have temporarily resolved this issue by starting a new banking account in Q14 with a transfer of balance. Has anyone out there delt with this issue before? Thanks for your help.

There shouldn't be any limit, my guess would be more like there is corruption in that account.

You might try Validate and Repair and also use Quicken's copy to create a new data file, that sometimes cleans up things.

If that doesn't work, then your two choices are 1) Do exactly what you did or 2) move all the transactions from the old account to a new one. But if I remember correctly moving transactions in Quicken 2014 was really a pain because it would prompt on every transaction that is reconciled either in that account or on a transaction that is a transfer to another account where that transaction is reconciled.

Can you show us a graphic of that error code? Because, I don't recall seeing, or hearing, of it before.

It seems that after careful evaluation of the error codes I received, 6914, 7012, 6936, 6895, 6917, 6961 and program shut down, all are the result of a data overflow in the number of entries, 17105, that I have accumulated since 1993 in my checking account. Starting a new account and transferring the balance over seems to resolve the issue without a problem. I am still able to access the old account and rectify the entries as they are processed. This seems to work as long as I do not add another entry over the 17105 limits. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not aware of any such limit in a Q account, but your product is so old that it might have existed then.

Here's the declared limits on files in Q … NOTE, that there's no stated limit on transactions in an account.
