Can I change the Currency in one bank account ?

Hi all,

I opened a bank account on //quicken classic in USD when I meant to have opened it in British pounds. Having entered a load of transactions over the years I would like to ask if I can simply change the currency as opposed to creating and manually entering all on a new account

This is an area where a Quicken Windows expert shouldn't comment on Quicken Mac.

Unlike Quicken Windows, Quicken Mac doesn't have full multiple currency support yet and maybe behave differently.

In Quicken Windows all the transfers between accounts get an automatic currency exchange, and as such it can be really tricky of what can and can't be done.

Quicken Mac on the other hand doesn't have this.  It is basically just putting a currency symbol on an account and then the only other thing it does is that in reports and such it keeps different currency accounts separated.  There isn't anything like in Quicken Windows where it will convert all the numbers to a given currency.

Well I do have to change currency for accounts

as sometimes, when I upload transaction through Quicken Connect, it changes currency for some accounts from CAD to USD,

I just revert it back to CAD and all works fine,

You do this in the account settings ,

My datafile is et to CAD, and I do have some USD accounts

This is with Quicken for Mac, Quicken for Windows I have no idea

NO,  you can never change the currency in a Q account.  You'll need to create a new GBP account and then move the transactions to that new account.
