I just purchased LifeHub and I cannot get my Quicken data file connected with LifeHub. Every time I try it gives me this error -
Does anyone know how to get past this error?
Hello @Sceptic,
Thank you for reaching out! Do you use the same Quicken ID for both Quicken LifeHub and the file you're trying to link?
I look forward to your response!
Yes, I just confirmed that.
@Quicken Kristina I've tried some things to get the connection established but it still errors out -
Hi @Sceptic,

@Quicken Kristina - "Report a problem" just sent.
Thank you, I will forward it for further review.
@Quicken Kristina why did I get a down arrow in my in my response to you?
Kristina, what am I not doing correctly?
@Quicken Kristina I just noticed that my original post and comments to you have been "thumbs downed" What is going on? Was I not allowed to report this error?
Your troubleshooting steps look good, and it’s absolutely fine to report LifeHub issues here in the community. I’ve shared the steps you followed, along with the error you’re experiencing, with our support team for further investigation.
Since the issue is still persisting, your case is currently under review. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have any new information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Can you determine who is doing the "downthumbing"? I think it was done as retaliation. There was no reason for it.
I reviewed the downvotes on your post and comments and did not find any justification for them, so I have removed them.
I’m not able to provide details regarding individual voting activity, but please know that we do monitor this activity and will address it when necessary.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Thank you. I apprecate the considerate attention and follow up.
Thanks and no problem. My only concern is that this take longer that the 30-day grace period to get a refund.
I can’t promise an estimated timeline, but I’m confident our team will work on it as soon as possible. We’ll share any updates as soon as new information becomes available.
@Quicken Laura after much testing, I think I found what the issue is. I went in and linked only "Accounts" and "Home & Property" accounts and left out "Bills & Income" and then linking to the data file worked! Then I went into "Bills & Income" and linked each account separately starting from the top. It errored out on these income reminders -
What I discovered is that LifeHub has around a 50 character limit on reminder names. When you create income reminders in Quicken, it allows for 62 characters. The challenge is that for income reminders the full security name is pulled from the security list. For income reminders the security name is truncated to 62 characters, if it is longer. So that is fine. But for LifeHub any reminder that is greater than 50 characters, causes an error when you try to link the data file.
The workaround is a challenge. I would need to go into the securty list, truncate or abbreviate the security names to 50 characters and then delete the existing income reminders and reset them up. Luckily there are only 6 reminders.
But this definitely, in my opinion, would need a code fix.
Thank you for your response,
Thanks for tracking that down and sharing what you found! I forwarded that information to our teams.
Thank you!

@Quicken Kristina Thanks for forwarding the information. If you or anyone there need clarification or addition information, please let me know. I am interested with continuing to learn about LifeHub and tinkering with it, but I am holding off until I hear what the programmers find.
@Quicken Kristina I shortened each of the 6 investment income reminders to 50 characters and I am now able to link successfully to my Quicken Data File. I didn't try to link the data file with the 6 reminders having more than 50 characters, so I cannot verify that the bug is programically fixed. I haven't gotten any updates so I am assuming that it's still being worked on.
For the record, here is the workaround I used -
So far, it seems to be working. I will continue working with it and create a post feedback when appropriate.
Thank you for your help with this.
Thank you for the follow-up,
I'm glad that editing the reminders resolved the issue for you!
I checked the ticket, and there are no new updates.
