Bulk Edit of Splits?

Question

I have a lot of transactions with splits.  I have a category that is used in over 100 register entries as one of the splits.  I want to change all of them but it seems I have to go one by one.

Is there a solution that would allow me to identify all of them and change them all at once?

(I know if I go to the pull down "Window/Categories" I can see a list of the categories and the number of times each category is used.  If I click on the number, I see all the instances.  But I can't select them all…if I click on one of the them, it doesn't just highlight it, it takes me to the individual transaction.  So there doesn't seem to be a way to select them all from there)

Note even though this was posted in a Mac category, @sparkoff 's profile says "Windows".

But Quicken Windows doesn't allow this either, and even though it has been suggested numerous times, I from what I can tell if these complaints either never have been made into an idea to be voted on or got extremely low vote counts.

And add your vote for this feature request which has more than 250 votes and which is still, inexplicably to me, marked as "Under Consideration" rather than "Planned" by the developers:

Unfortunately no, you can't bulk edit the category of split transactions. However, if you want to change every existing use of that category to a new category you can accomplish what you want by merging the old category into the new one on the Categories window. Select the current category that you want to stop using, then command-click on the new category that you want to switch to and click the Merge Categories button that appears at the bottom of the window. Make sure the new category is the one selected in the "Into" window. All the transactions that used the old category (including splits) will automatically change to the new one and the old category will no longer exist.

If you just want to change some of the transactions using the old category but leave others untouched, then you'll have to go through the splits one at a time. You can bulk-edit the category of unsplit transactions but not split ones.
