I am using Quicken Classic for Windows. Is there a way to see a list of all transactions for the year? My year end trial balance does not balance.
"See a list of all transactions" in what type of account? Are you, perhaps, looking at an Investment account that's set for "Simple" tracking rather than "Complete"?
You can view this setting at TOOLS, Account List and clicking EDIT next to the Investment account.
If NOT an investment account, why can you simply see them in the account register? AND, you can set a FILTER at the top of the account register to "This Year", to limit your view to just this year.
OR, you can click "All Transactions" at the top of the Account Bar to see every transaction in almost every account. which can also be filtered.
Hi @ppinya
To see a list of all transactions, I would go to Reports > Banking > Transaction. Set the date range to Year to date, or Yearly and Current year if you want to see future dated transactions.
You can subtotal the report by account if you want, and select accounts to include by clicking on the gear at the top right to open the customization options and clicking on the Accounts tab to select the accounts to include.
For investing accounts, if you want to see the unrealized gains and losses, click on the Advanced customization tab and check the Unrealized Gains box.
For banking and credit card accounts, if you just want to see one account you can click on the gear at the top right of the account register and select More reports then Register report. Unfortunately this defaults to showing all the transactions since the account was opened, so if there are thousands of transactions it may take a loooong time to open.
Please let us know when you find the source of the trial balance discrepancy.
Thank you all. I will try all of these and let you know what (hopefully) worked.
