I have tried a few different combinations, but it doesn't connect
Without knowing what you've already tried, and what the results were, it would be futile to make any suggestions as to what you should try next.
Also, TIAA goes under multiple names in Q … so which TIAA entity do you have an account with?
And, NetXInvestor doesn't appear in any of the TIAA entries, so it's not apparent who holds your account.

It is the TIAA brokerage which is handled by Pershing and the account is accessed through Netx Investor website, I have put the user id and password in as I would online and I also added the 3-digit code in front of the user id and I still get the error message " we encountered an error(it's not your fault) try again

If you have tried more than one option, do you see that same error message with all of them? If not, what other errors are you seeing, and which connection options do you see them with?
