Are my Checking and Savings beyond Saving?

Hi! I'm on Version 9.2.2 (Build 902.61860.100) for Mac and running on MacOS 26.5.2.

I have been learning DIY how to apply the Transfer category today. At some stage I must have gotten carried away (possibly with bulk edits between accounts that have similar names), because my Savings account is suddenly many $1,000s in the red while my Checking has by many many $1000s increased, and I don't know when that happened.

Would it be best/safe to delete them and re-sync?

Also, what do the pencil icons mean? And what does "cleared status of a transaction" (the checkboxes) mean? Just feels like during all my activities today that those two columns started changing as well…

Thank you for reaching out! If you made a backup before making all these edits, restoring that backup may be the simplest way to correct this. If you don't have a recent enough backup, or there are edits you don't want to lose, then deleting the duplicates and resyncing to make sure they don't redownload is an option, but make sure to backup your file first. That way, if you do not get the expected result, you can restore that backup. [Edited for Clarity]

To answer your question about the pencil icons: Orangish pencil icons signify a transaction that was either manually entered or automatically generated by Quicken (you will see this with the automatically generated other side of a transfer transaction and with reminders when you enter them into your register). If the pencil icon is blue, it means a manual or automatically created transaction matched with a downloaded transaction. By "cleared status of transaction", are you referring to the CLR column? If so, you can see whether the transaction has cleared your account and whether it's been reconciled in the CLR column. A blank checkbox indicates an uncleared transaction (usually a manually entered transaction).

A blue box with a white checkbox indicates a cleared transaction. Transactions that download from your financial institution usually have the blue checkmark.

A green circle with a black checkmark indicates a reconciled transaction.
