My Total AV antivirus program is not allowing Quicken Classic to start?

Total AV antivirus is saying the following files are a Trojan threat and not allowing Quicken to start.

The files are in C:\program(x86)\Quicken\UPDATEContent.dll

\lbt.coustometCentral.dll

\ofxsdk-gw.dll

\qaccess.dll

\qvault.dll

\gwoline.dll

\UpdateContent.dll

Is it safe to allow these files on my computer.

[update] I see one other report of this problem today with another Total AV user, but it might be a false positive.

Please check the file path and file names you list above. I suspect there are typos in your list:

The path should be C:\Program Data (x86)\Quicken\

and other files should be

UpdateContent.dll (only one of these)

lbt_customerCentral.dll

ofxsdk_qw.dll

qwonline.dll

not the variations you list. Is that correct, or do you really have the other files you list?

I have the files you list above plus qdb.dll, qaccess.dll, qvault.dll for a total of 7 files that have been quarantined. What is the solution and anyone know why Total AV is doing this.

This is Donna. I may be the other Total AV user you mentioned above, as I spoke with your rep Robert in Guatemala on the 15th. Robert sent me this patch on the 15th but at first, I couldn't run it for some reason, so he helped me uninstall and reinstall the current version of Quicken Classic Deluxe.

The problem was Total AV blocking the following Quicken files (suspected trojans) which appear to be spelled correctly. Quicken then started and updated correctly.

When I first got on my computer this morning (10/18/26) Quicken started correctly. However Total AV then blocked lbt_customerCentral.dll as well. I then was able to run the patch above and Quicken is now working correctly again.

I have the same question as Earl above: What is the solution and does anyone know why Total AV is doing this? Can you contact them? I have been using Total AV since October 2023 without any issues until now.

In Total AV settings I'm showing the following:

Detection Name: Trojan.Risk.BitMiner.Gen

File Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\lbt_customerCenter.dll

Action: Quarantined

App version: 7.1.17

@Donna Juselis Thanks for that additional information.

To be clear, I am a user like you and do not have any inside access to Quicken folks other than the forum Moderators, whose user names begin with Quicken.

It appears that the Quicken patch Robert sent you would install R69.25, which is older than the current version, R69.53. If you go to Help > About Quicken, what version does it say you are running now?

Given that this is affecting Total AV users and only Total AV users, one can suspect that it is Total AV is giving false positives (as in flagging files as being bad when they aren't). I don't see this that much these days any more, it was much more common in the past. The real fix would be to contact Total AV and get them to fix their product. That might be an up hill battle because a lot of what they do is just pattern matching where they have reported virus, store a pattern of what the file looks like and when that pattern appears again report it. And as time goes on the patterns repeating that aren't really viruses go up. The other things they might do is see if the program does something they think is "not safe" and flag it.

The real problem for a manufacture like Quicken Inc is that there are so many AV products out there and to have to go to each of them for each release to mark their software "white listed" isn't really practical. But if you want to go that route and try to get them to try then you need to be talking to Quicken support, not a mainly user forum.

At a user level you should be able to tell Total AV to ignore all the folders that Quicken is in.

I just checked this morning 10/19/26 and the version of Quicken installed is still R69.25. I did send a False Positive report to Total AV yesterday (Sunday) and got a confirmation reply email with a ticket # from their Labs Team right away. I'm waiting to see if I get any further response. Can you please provide a link to the download for R69.53?
