Selecting and Subtotaling by Tag in Classic Starter Edition Reports

There needs to be an update to the Classic Starter Edition that allows you to select Tags for reports ("Tag" tab is currently missing in the "Customize Transaction" window) and allows you to Subtotal by Tag ("Tag" is currently missing as a choice in the Subtotal dropdown). These are basic report options that should be included in every Quicken edition and not left out of the Starter Edition.

Tags are omitted by design in the Starter Edition* which is intended as a version with limited features. If you want the Tag reports and features, you need to belly up and pay the price. While there are some 'workaround' steps that can get tags applied to transactions, that seems to have been an oversight on the programming side or it was more difficult to block those paths. Quicken, Inc has a long-standing position of not supporting tags in the Starter Edition.

You can ask or toss out your opinion in this community, as you have, but I would not expect a change.

It is not well publicized, but the ability to use Tags in reports is one of the features that differentiates Starter from the higher editions of Quicken Classic. Starter has other limitations, as discussed here

If you want to use Tags in reports, you can upgrade to Deluxe.
