Entering matched transactions as new

Question

I just went through 38 pages (okay I eventually skipped to the end) of

because I've been having the same problem for months: Transactions are matched but then the matched transaction is left as uncleared while a new one is opened. This would completely trash my accounts and I have to eliminated the duplicates by hand month after month.

It looks like this was closed but never solved (It happened again today). Where do I go for a real answer to this widespread and longlasting problem???

Quicken is not a legacy product as one of the final posters said. I pay for it every year. I always download updates as they become available.

I am having the same issue.  I frequently manually enter transactions but then the download transactions are being entered as new & match.  Has anything been resolved on this issue???  Example below.  The entry with category was entered manually.  The entry without a category was entered during download.
