How do I download a CSV file for my Account Summary Report?

Am I to understand correctly that the only report available to download to Excel is a Category report? If so, this is absolutely and totally unacceptable and I will be looking for alternative software.

It's true that there's no direct export for t he Account Summary report. I would expect that it will be available in the future as more reports are rewritten with the new reporting engine.
In the mean time, there is a workaround: Click anywhere on the Account Summary report and then menu Edit > Select All, then Copy. You can paste this into an Excel sheet. It will require a bit of format cleanup, but it's not bad.
BTW, the Category report is not the only one that currently can be exported to Excel. The Tax Schedule Report and All New Reports (Transaction, Summary and Comparison) also have CSV exportability.

I'd also add that if you have a lot of investment accounts, you can export the portfolio view of your investments accounts. This won't include your banking accounts and loans, like the Account Summary, but for many people, investments is a primary area of interest, so I'm just noting that this is exportable data.
As @RickO alluded to, the reports available on the Reports menu underneath New Report are actually the "old reports" which came over from the 2010-era Quicken Essentials program. Those reports were rudimentary and not easily configurable, so the developers set out two years ago to write an all-new reports engine and interface. Little by little, they've been adding new functionality, which is all hidden under the innocuous-looking New Report option on the menu. The new reports allow users to control which columns are in the reports, the order and width of columns, scaling to fit on a printed page, and they're all exportable. But New Reports doesn't yet exist for balance sheet-type reports, like the Account Summary or Net Worth. It seems extremely likely that those are forthcoming as they continue to build out features of the new reports, but we don't know what will be delivered when.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19935
