Finding a different place to put Quicken files (Q Mac 2019)

I just upgraded to Deluxe 2019 from Quicken 2007. I happily ran Quicken 2007 from data files on an encrypted USB drive. Quicken 2019 doesn't seem to be able to move its data files from the default folder in Application Support/Quicken/Documents.
I want to have these data files on the USB drive. I don't want them to back-up there, I want them to be the actual running data files. Is there any way to host my data files somewhere other than the default folder?

Yes: Menu File > Move To...
BUT... It is not recommenced to run your file directly off a flash drive. This type of drive is not meant to support the frequency of data transfer that is entailed with running the Quicken file live. If you are going to do this, I recommenced you have very frequent backups saved elsewhere.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s5 -
Still, I would strongly recommend against storing your data file on a flash drive. The odds are significant that you will get a failure of the flash drive and possible corruption of your data file when that happens. Additionally, your Quicken will run much slower than it will on a hard drive.
If you're trying to avoid that second disaster, you won't run your Quicken data file from a flash drive. This is inviting disaster.
You would be much better to put your data file on your Mac, run it there, save a backup (or make a compressed .zip) copy to put on the flash drive. (You can even delete it from your Mac when you do this, if you have some particular security concerns.) Next time you use Quicken, copy the file back from he flash drive to your hard drive, run it from there, then repeat the copy back to the flash drive when you're done.
I know you have your workflow and some reason for it, but I can't encourage you strongly enough to make a change. Even if you copy the file to your hard drive and then back to the flash drive each time you use Quicken, it will take you only a few seconds, and you'll be much safer.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19935

Thanks! Yes my USB drive is backed up hourly to "The Cloud." Everything that can go wrong has for me once already, and I try to avoid that second disaster. Thanks again!0
