Moving from 2017 to 2020.

I am using Quicken deluxe 2017 since April 2017. I believe the end date for online downloading from banks etc. is the end of April 2020, that is April 30, 2020?. Then I need to get Quicken 2020 (or sometime before). I have 2 questions. 1. In the past I had to uninstall the old version of Quicken before installing the new version and if memory serves me correctly there was a special file to run and other instructions to make sure all was uninstalled properly. Is this still the case and if so can someone point me to the instructions re uninstalling 2017? 2. Can I buy the cd disk form for 2020 or is it only available in download format?

#1 You should not need to uninstall your previous version of Quicken, BUT if you want to, follow the instructions found here: QCleanUI - Clean Uninstall#2 I do believe that the CD just initiates a download, so there is no real benefit of purchasing a CD versus a download. If you really want a CD to install from for future re-installs, do the download and then burn the downloaded installation program to a CD for safe keeping.

I haven't done the upgrade in a while, but as long as you have your QDF backup file I think either method works (uninstall, or new install over top of old).
There are probably best practices for upgrades, but prior to subscription I was installing via CD and opening a backup from the previous version. As long as you have a backup of your files you can really handle it any way you want.
I would back up all my data and then pop the new CD or execute the download for install and follow the instructions. Once you get onto the subscription, upgrades are rolling and new version migration becomes a regular housekeeping activity.Quicken user since 1994.
