Investment Accounts and the Register

I recently opened a Money Market account with an investment co. i added the account as an investment account, and activated it for online services. The company made an investment, so now the account has two components - cash, and a security. The security shows up, but in the Account summary to the left of the registers, only the cash portion shows. Is this normal? anyway to include the security amount there as well?

If you click on Holdings, does the security show up there, and if so what does it show as the market value?
Perhaps the download session has created a hidden placeholder in your account which is affecting the balance. To make these visible, go to Edit > Preferences > Investment Transactions and check the Show hidden transactions boxQWin Premier subscription5

Thanks, Jim. There was in fact a placeholder transaction. I needed to enter the number of shares in the security. When i did that, the account shows the combination of Securities and Cash! I really appreciate your help!0
