How to add checks received at home to quicken account

I receive a monthly check at home. How do I enter it into the Quicken account?

You deposit that check into your bank, and then create a deposit transaction into that account in Q.

OR, if you download into Q from that account, you can wait for Q to download it after the deposit.

The 1st method gives you more control. The 2nd is a bit easier.

Many thanks! I was using Q07 for all these years and got used to entering items manually.

@carol So you do exactly the same as you did in Quicken 2007. In your checking account, create a new transaction for the amount of the deposit and whatever category you use to track the income or reimbursement.
