How to make repeating memos stop

TRansactions from the same payee repeat the same memo perpetually. How can that be stopped?

Check your memorized transaction list. Ctrl-T or Tools > Memorized Payee List. You probably have a memorized transaction with the unwanted memo in it. You can edit the transaction to remove the memo.

Include if you are entering the transactions, manually.
