"--Split--" notations should not show up in "Tag" column

"--Split--" notations should not show up in "Tag" column

Why is this so??? I do split categories and they are properly notated as "--Split--" in the category column of my register, but then why is the same "--Split--" notation repeated again in the "Tag" column for no reason.

Please explain the rationale or even better remove this concept from the "Tag" column.

    The rational is the same reason why you see it in the category column. Once you make a transaction a split it isn't possible for the "main transaction" to have a category or a tag. The read-only --Split-- is basically saying you can't enter anything here because it is a split transaction.

    How about, because ALL PARTS of the transaction are split.
    BUT, if you want differing tags on  the split lines you're free to input them.  NOTE, that on the main transaction, it will read --Split-- because the multiple tags can't be displayed there.
