how to convert .CSV file to .QFX file

In downloading transactions from bank account I accidently downloaded an account as a CSV file. Now how do I get it to a QFX file so that I can add the transactions into my Quicken?

Somehow I had been operating under the assumption that once the information was downloaded that was it. Happily I was wrong.
    Thanks again for your help.
I have seen some reports of financial institutions that when you select to download a QFX file they send what they have from the time you last asked, and have no other options.  So in that case if you didn't save the QFX file you were out of luck to get it again.  But that is very rare and only for the QFX file, I have never heard of any financial institution that lets you download a QFX file not allow it after downloading a CSV file.

Another user has created a program to convert CSV to QFX.

    Here is the link: http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/

Can't you just go back to the bank's website and download the correct QFX file instead of trying to convert? That would be the best/easiest way.

I'll try that and let you know.
Thank you, it worked. Somehow I had been operating under the assumption that once the information was downloaded that was it. Happily I was wrong.

My new mortgage company only allows csv files to download my statement/transaction history into Quicken. Since Quicken only recognizes csv files as stock prices, how can I convert the file to qfx so I can use it without having to download and use somebody's personally created conversion program?

For your case I recommend that you just create a manual entry loan account.  Downloading to a loan account is way over hyped.  The loan wizard can be used to create the reminder that calculates the right principal and interest and that goes into the checking account.  When you download that transaction, make sure that the principal and interest split values are correct with what the financial institution says they and and reconcile it.  That will ensure that amount transferred to the loan account is accurate.  You can also check the balance of the loan account to make sure it is correct.  And that is basically all you have to do.

Even if you could download to that loan account Quicken would remove the register and use whatever is sent by the financial institution.  You would never download the details a QFX file.

    Hi @Teeks

I have seen a Mac version of the CSV to QFX (or maybe OFX?)  converter before but I cannot remember exactly where.  I will take a look at some archives and try to find it.

I think all of the ones I have seen (actually just one product that easily comes up after the search) is not free and as such can't be directly mentioned here.

[Removed - Soliciting] So I'm now having to enter one account manually for 3 years and the rest are downloaded so hopefully this settles everything >.<
