Reconcile puzzle

I am seeing strange behavior that I've never observed in 30 years of using Quicken.
When I try to reconcile my Sam's Club World Mastercard account, there is an entry in the register that does not show up in the reconcile window, and the account balance is off by the amount of that transaction. I have attached screen shots of the register and the reconcile window. The transaction is Cleared but not Reconciled, and should be shown as a debit in the reconcile window. Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Turn on Downloaded posting date column.  I think you will find that the posting date for that transaction is past the reconcile ending date.  When available Quicken uses the downloaded posting date for determining if a transaction should be included in the reconcile, not the date the user has entered.

It's the registry entry for $82.16.

Chris - Where is that option - how do I 'Turn on Downloaded posting date column"?

Sorry, should have included that information.

Note you might have a gear icon, they recently changed this.
You can also find a menu item in the top gear icon that says "Register columns...".

Thank you. I added that; the date matches the date I had. No surprise, as the date was downloaded; I did not enter or change it.

Look at that date again.  It is 12/28/2021

I did not see that. Somehow Synchrony bank sent the wrong date. Strange! Thanks.

One (hopefully) last question. I can't change the downloaded date in Quicken. I can edit it in the transactions.qfx file, but the next time I update transactions, it will download another file with the 12282021 date.

So I see no way to fix this until/unless Synchrony Bank is willing to fix the error in the transactions.qfx file. I've had no success even explaining the behavior to anyone there; much less getting them to fix anything.

Is there a work around that would allow me to reconcile the account?

Delete the transaction, and reenter it.   ;)

Hopefully Synchrony Bank won't repeat the problem.

    Your welcome.

BTW I thought this afterwards.  If you right click on the transaction it will give a menu and you can select Copy, and then right click again to paste it.  That will give you a transaction that is identical, but without the posting date.

Note that the rules are use the posting date if available, if not use the one entered by the user (the main date).  And of course a "non downloaded" transaction doesn't have a posting date.
